At the technology summit, IBM's Cox presented a persuasive argument for collaborative development in corporate machine learning. Cox, VP of artificial intelligence systems and head at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, emphasized the importance of openness in tech progress, especially in the present machine learning environment.
David emphasized the complex character of transparency in artificial intelligence, questioning the simplistic view of the concept. He pointed out the burgeoning community of transparent systems from multiple providers, including technology corporations, academic institutions, and countries.
However, he expressed reservations about the standard of transparency in numerous Large Language Models, noting that a number of them offer barely more than a collection of data points without openness in their development processes.
